NOT GIVING UP THE FIGHT!

Online obituary for Tisha Pasinski. Read Tisha Pasinski’s life story, offer tributes/condolences, send flowers or create a Tisha Pasinski online memorial

I am sad to share with all of you that Tisha lost her battle with Leukemia this morning (Thursday) at 12:45 a.m. . Tisha was a wife, mother, sister, friend & so much more. She is in a better place now & out of pain. We are not giving up the fight in helping raise awareness of this horrible disease, so the FIGHT will still go on. You are probably wondering what made me choose to decorate bras when Tisha was not battling Breast Cancer. I actually got the idea from a scrapbook store & I thought to my self Tisha liked to do the Race For The Cure Run every October to help stomp out cancer & I also thought about how her & I both LOVE Marilyn Monroe. So I thought it would make a fun happy twist to things that are all too sad right now & for a long time to come. I wanted to put a smile on all our faces the way Tisha did for us. If you have any info (pictures, stories, memories, etc.) you would like to share about Tisha please feel free to contact me so that I can post it to the blog it for you.

Here is another decorated bra for idea all of you participating.

SUPPORT YOUR UPPER SHOULDER BOULDER HOLDER!

Hi Ladies,

You are probably wondering what I am talking about! This is not going to be one of our regular challenges this week. I wanted to do something to help my friend Tisha who is in the fight of her life right now against leukemia. Tisha has been battling this horrible disease for 13 months now and is currently in Hospice. So I thought that we could use the power of the internet, our blog, and our creativity to help Tisha and her family.

So here is what I am asking all of you to do: DECORATE UP A WOMEN'S BRA!

How, you ask? With ribbon, bling, flowers, buttons, do a
holiday theme, etc... (see the picture above)

Even though Tisha is not fighting breast cancer I thought this would be something fun and different to bring awareness to Tisha's cause and so many others. This challenge will be up throughout the whole month of October because it is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are also going to be adding a donate button to the blog so that when people get on to vote they can also choose to donate to Tisha and her family if they would like.

You will have 1 week to complete your project. Email your pics to Lucinda at lucindafish@cox.net by midnight Sunday 10/3/10.

I am asking all of you to really put a SHOUT OUT TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY for this. I really want to see what we can raise for this worthy cause! Whoever wins will receive a PINK BASKET full of PINK GOODIES! I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Here are some pictures of Tisha & her sweet family.

See you on the runway!!

CHALLENGE #5 ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID NEVER A BRIDE

We know this is not true for us lucky ladies! hahaha

On this episode the 11 remaining designers had the fun or should I say NIGHTMARE of working with 11 new models who were all previous bridesmaids. This was not the NIGHTMARE part, they had to take the old "bridescary" dresses & make a new outfit out of the existing dress fabric........OUCH! Some turned out beautiful & others......well, we won't go there...

So I thought what to do for this one? I was never a bridesmaid, but I was a flower girl twice! It is too hard to stitch pages & pic's. Then it came to me, how fun would it be to follow a pre-designed sketch? You are probably asking yourself - what is that? Sketching is all the rage and has been for a little while now. Sketching is like a sewing pattern, but for scrap booking. The pattern is already drawn and laid out for you, you just add the fabric or in our case the paper & embellishments. So here comes the next BIG SURPRISE.....DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!

VALERIE SALMON with GOT SKETCH has given us permission to use her sketches for this challenge and to be a guest judge with prize included! How AWESOME is that???

Valerie Salmon

So here is how it will work:

Go to her blog and look up her sketches. She has links to them on the sidebar. You can pick your favorite number and look up that sketch or she has them broken down to how many pictures you want on a layout. Or just surf her sketches till you find the one that inspires you! It is up to you how you pick just let us know what sketch number you picked when you turn in your layout. From there it is up to you to add the paper/embellishments you like. Feel free to put your own spin on it (turn the sketch on its side, upside down, etc.).

You will have till Midnight Sunday, September 26 to turn in your projects (email pic of your layout to lucindafish@cox.net).

Good Luck & Happy Sketching.

We will see you on the runway!

CHALLENGE #1 THAT IS SO INSPIRING!

Well ladies this first challenge is long overdue & you are probably wondering why. I have been going back & forth if I should do the blog again this year with the challenges. I am not always the most organized person okay I am NEVER an organized person! So I was debating on if I wanted to do it or not this year. It is alot of work to get prizes & free product together between running a household & being a mommy & wife & my husbands schedule is allllllllllll over the place, but that is no excuse. I know we all get busy with everyday lives & so I know this can make it hard to get our projects completed unless you are Henrietta she ALWAYS turned in. I need to get more organized like her. It seems for every 1 step I take forward I take 2 steps back.............SHEESH! But you know what what the heck let's do it again. We will use stuff from the last round & of course anything from your own stash as well. If you want to turn in & try to win a prize, get some scrapbooking/paper crafting done, try something new or just having fun..........GREAT! So here is to our first challenge.

CHALLENGE #1 THAT IS SO INSPIRING:
Your challenge is to pick your favorite clothing item or accessorie (blouse, purse, shoes, braclet, ect.) & design a layout from that item. It may be the color, the design or texure that inspires you. You can do something current or even a through back to anoth time era ( like the 80's)..........it's up to you! Please send me a photo of your layout along with a pic of what insprired you. You have until Sunday Aug. 22 at midnight to e-mail me your layout.

HENRIETTA I HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR YOU FOR ALWAYS TURNING IN A PROJECT!

GOING, GOING.................GONE OR NOT!

Well as all of us know our economy has not been the best for our country for the past 2- 2 1/2 years. Because of this it has really hurt the scrapbooking/paper crafting industry. Some of our favorite companies/stores have had to close their doors do to these tuff times. One of these was RUSTY PICKLE! I was fortunate enough to get to meet Lance Anderson (founder of RUSTY PICKLE) a few weeks ago at the Mesa, AZ. Scrapbooking Convention. Some of you may recall that we used some of their product for one of our first challanges & the kindly donated a prize to us as well. He was super nice & even autographed (NOTHING RUSTY HERE) his book for me! Lance is not totally going away he said that he will still be teaching classes locally & around the globe!

CHALLENGE #11 icky, yicky, sticky &................. oh soooooooo PICKY!

This last week on the show the 6 remaining designers had to design a RED CARPET look for someone famous, but who it was they did not know! They were told that this person was picky & very opinionated about what they like to wear..........hhhhmmm who could it be. Well as it turned out to be none other than Heidi Klum! But that wasn't all with this challenge, they had to get feedback from Heidi about her likes & dislikes: don't make my butt & hips look big & don't make my boobs look flat or saggy! No big patterns & so on. But that wasn't all the drama, to every ones surprise one of the designers (Maya) decided to leave the competition early! Leaving room for the last eliminated designer to return ANTHONY OUR LITTLE YUMMY CHOCOLATE GAY CUPCAKE! Then just when you thought things had calmed down one of the models (Valeria) left early to go do another job (can't blame her she got payed double $$ cha ching!), but then things got even crazier with 2 winning the challenge this week : Emilio/Anthony. WOW it was a lot of twists & turns this last week.

Well after all that lets talk about our challenge: icky, yicky, sticky &............oh soooooooooooo PICKY! Your challenge this week is to design a layout about someone else other than yourself. This person must be out of your comfort zone! You can't do it about your kids/husband. Choose someone different: your neighbor, friend, aunt, sister, in-law, etc.. Learn about who they are: favorite color, hobbies, likes/dislikes, etc...

This challenge is due by midnight Thursday April 15, 2010. Email your pics to lucindafish@cox.net.

I will see you on the runway.

CHALLENGE #10 LEAVING YOUR MARK!

This week the 7 remaining designers had an opportunity to design their own fabric/textile, but for some this was a challenge in a challenge.

Your challenge #10: LEAVING YOUR MARK! Have you ever went looking for a specific paper for a layout, but have come back empty handed? Well I know I have. This week you get to change all that! You get to design your own 12x12 (white card stock) paper. Do you ever wonder what it is like for all of our favorite scrapbooking companies to put their ideas to print? Well I know I do. What would you do given the opportunity...........hhhmmmm? Would you design a digital background, stamp on it, paint it, paper piece it, etc., you decide.

This challenge is due midnight Tuesday April 6, 2010. Email your pics to lucindafish@cox.net.

SEE YOU ON THE RUNWAY!

P.S. I was sorry to see Anthony go he was so funny/cute, he brought a lot of entertainment to the workroom/show!

Challenge #6 - Here are the entries!

Hi everyone,

Here are the entries for Challenge #6 - Through the Eyes of a Child. Mine is not done yet but Beth has graciously said for me not to stress about it and get it done when I can (I have her pics).

So sorry it's taken me so long to get these posted - I have had some stuff going on in my life that has prevented me from being at the computer lately...my mother-in-law was just given weeks left to live (she has cancer) and so we've been spending lots of time with her while we can. Also, we just found out that we are expecting our 3rd child! So I haven't been feeling quite like myself either. Anyway, enough excuses! I will try to be better from now on!

Here are the entries...love how everyone's turned out! Vote for your favorite (and tell your family and friends to vote too) - voting will end Monday, March 29th at midnight (MST)!

Thanks again for your patience with me!

CHALLENGE #9 TAKE ME AWAY.................

The 8 remaining designers had to split up into 4 teams. For this challenge, New York City will be the point of departure. Four distinctive neighborhoods have been selected based on their history, cultural impact and influence on fashion: Chinatown, the East Village, the Upper East Side and Harlem.

Well ladies being that none of us live in New York I was a little stuck on what our challenge could be, but then it came to me. Have you ever wanted to visit a far of land or even visit another one of our other 49 states? This weeks challenge TAKE ME AWAY.........is sponsored by COSMO CRICKET. In your bag you will find a BLACKBOARD PHOTO BOX. You challenge is to decorate the outside of your box about a place that you would like to visit. For me it is PARIS (ooh lala). What is it for you: London, Scottland, Hawaii or maybe even New York. Feel free to add any items to it that you would like: chipboard, flowers, buttons, paper, ect. I might even use mine as a little PIGGY savings bank when I am done......... oh to dream.

P.S. I am working on getting us a guest judge for this challenge. Sorry this took so long to post mylifetime web-site has been down as well as my own computer has has a little bit of a cold or is it allergies. Oh well whatever I WILL SEE YOU ON THE RUNWAY. This challenge is due by Tues. March 23, 2010.
If you want to still participate with the flip-flop exchange it is not to late!

Friday, March 12, 2010

I 'LL TRADE YOU A FLIP & FLOP!

Hi Ladies, if you are anything like me (if you are than your are just the COOLEST!) you LOVE flip flops (I own around 25 pairs! NO JOKE!) I have been hiding my toes all these weeks with this rain, but now spring is finally on it's way! Now we can kick off our rain boots (who are we kidding kick off our sneakers) & show the world our cute little piggies (toes). So I thought it would be fun to trade flip flops, but wait there is more...........you gotta decorate your flip flops. It's up to you on what you want to do: ribbon, buttons, bling you name it. Send me an e-mail or leave a comment with your shoes size & favorite color & I will send you back someone else's info so you each can make a pair of flip flops for one another. HAVE A FLIP'N GOOD TIME!

CHALLENGE #8: MOTHER NATURE!

Heidi instructs the nine remaining designers to meet on the rooftop of the Atlas, their apartment building, where they will learn about their next challenge. She adds, you're going to "channel your natural creativity." Hmmmm …

They are to create a look inspired by one of the four natural elements: earth, air, fire, water. Owing to the fact that Jay won the last challenge, he can choose any of the elements. The eight remaining designers must choose their element from one of eight cards, two cards for each of the four elements. Their order of selection is determined by the velvet bag.

So this week's challenge is MOTHER NATURE & is sponsored by LUCINDA FISH with STAMPIN' UP. You will find in your bag 2 12x12 sheets of paper (1 green & 1 with different stripes: grn., yell., blue) a sheet of coordinating stickers & 1 chipboard bird. You must design a layout about nature & how it's beauty inspires you. Feel free to use as much or as little of the product as you like, plus add anything extra to & let us see how creative you can be with your chipboard bird.

Good luck I will see you on the runway. This challenge is due by Sunday March, 21 at midnight.

Email your pics to lucindafish@cox.net.

Saturday, March 6, 2010

CHALLENGE #7...............HARD-TO-WEAR!

This week the 10 remaining designers went to go visit a hardware store & were told their next outfit would be designed out of items only found in a hardware store. Plus Tim told them they had to design a coordinating accessory to go with their design.

So here is your challenge: You must visit your local hardware store & find item/items to use on your layout (ex: paintchips, paint, wood moldings, medal, nuts, bolts, tape, etc.)- use your imagination. You must also come up with a matching 3-D accessory/item. When you turn in your page you must send a pic. of your layout plus your accessory & tell what the item/items are that you used from the hardware store.

Email your pics to lucindafish@cox.net by Saturday, March 13th at midnight so Lucinda can post the pics for voting.

Good luck see you on the runway!

CHALLENGE # 6: THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD!

This week on the show the 11 remaining designers had to create an outfit for 11 little girls aging from 5-9 yrs. old. They had 1 day to complete this challenge, but the next day Tim Gunn told them that the little girls would not be walking the runway till the next day, but that didn't mean the designers had an extra day to work on their outfits. OH NO! Rather, they must design a corresponding companion look for their “Models of the Runway” model. Although their children’s look is, indeed, the point of departure for this new look, the adult look is not intended to be a maxi version of the mini. The children’s look must be re-conceived for an adult.

So here is your challenge: Design a page/layout about a child & a complementing page of their mother, but wait that is not all............you are not doing your own layouts!

You must send pictures (old/current) of your children/nieces/nephews & pictures (old/current) of yourself to Lucinda. Lucinda & I will draw who gets whose pictures & someone else will design for you & you for them. Remember though it is a complementing page not an exact version of the child's page. This week you will be using from your own materials/stash but also you will find in your bag a sheet of stickers from THREE BUGS IN A RUG you must use at least 1 sticker for each layout.

PICTURES MUST BE SENT TO LUCINDA BY SUNDAY FEB. 21 AT MIDNIGHT (SO THAT WE CAN EMAIL PHOTOS MONDAY) & YOU WILL HAVE TILL TUESDAY MARCH, 2 TO COMPLETE YOUR TWO PAGES/LAYOUTS. Send them to lucindafish@cox.net.

P.S. Sorry this came out so late I was out of town for 2 days & my computer was giving me problems when I tried to post this. Thank you, Beth

SEE YOU ON THE RUNWAY!

CHALLENGE: #5 IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM!

This week the 12 remaing designers had to design an outfit to be worn by a celebrity on the cover of Marie Claire! And that's not all — the celebrity is none other than Heidi Klum!

So the challenge for you this week & I must admit I had a hard time coming up with this one: Design a layout (double or single) that is ALL ABOUT HIM! Your insperation can be your husband/father/grandpa. Who is he, what does he mean to you & your family? Tell us & tell him we would LOVE to know & so would he! This is using your own stash of materials again & feel free to use anything from our past challenges. You may use old or current photo's.

This challenge is due by Thursday Feb., 18 at midnight.
See you on the runway.

Challenge 4 deadline extended!

Hi everyone,

Lucinda's hubby is treating her family to a last minute weekend in the snow, so we're extending the deadline for challenge 4 (since she's the one who does the slideshows/voting stuff and won't have internet up in the mountains) to Saturday night. Her email address is lucindafish@cox.net. You should see your entries on the blog sometime Sunday when Lucinda gets home.

Thanks!

Another grunge board example!

We all know we get busy, things happen, sometimes we don't finish things in time! At least that's how I am (hopefully some of you are the same way too?). Anyhew, Beth didn't finish her grunge board project in time for the contest, but I thought you'd all like to see what she did with it anyways.

If any of you ever want to share something you made on the blog, let one of us know! Especially if it was for one of the challenges and due to unforseen circumstances didn't get finished in time. We always love to see new ideas!

Beth, thanks for sharing!

CHALLENGE #3 DEADLINE EXTENDED!

Hey ladies just wanted to let you know that the deadline for challenge #3 has been extended to mid-night Sunday. Some of you where a little confussed on the turn in time. So we are giving you an extra day to get your photo's submitted to Lucinda. See you on the runway.

CHALLENGE #4: DESIGN YOUR HEART OUT!

February is National Heart Disease Awareness Month, for heart disease is the number one killer of women in America. The 13 remaining designers had to work with guest models: 13 inspiring women, each of whom has been impacted by heart disease.
Lisa Walker, Vice President for Innovation for the Campbell's Soup Company, joined Tim Gunn to present the designers with their new challenge: create a signature dress for the Campbell's AdDRESS Your Heart program, a nationwide campaign to create awareness about the pervasiveness of heart disease in our nation. Red must be a prominent color in the dress, and the Campbell branding must be present.

You challenge this week is to design a layout about you & what you love about yourself ex: are you a good freind/sister/mother/wife, do you love to read, travel, swimmer/diver, play an instrument, an animal lover, etc... Think about it: we are always trying to scrapbook someone else's story & we forget to do our own. We want our friends & family to know who we are & the mark we are leaving on the world. In this challenge you will be using your own materials (your scrapbooking stash) & the color red must be a prominent color. Feel free to use old & current pic.'s of yourself to tell your story & you may do a double layout if you like.

Please email a picture of your layout to lucindafish@cox.net by Friday, Feb. 12th. We are extending the the deadline till Saturday Feb. 13th. at midnight, because Lucinda will be out of town.

CHALLENGE 3: YOU INSPIRE ME!

On this week's episode, the 14 remaining designers arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art & were told they would be working in teams of 2. There were mannequins that were dressed in the work of fashion icons including Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, etc. The designers' challenge was to create a high-end signature look that would be fitting in the company of those fashion icons.

But wait…the following morning Tim gathered the teams together to inform them that they would be designing an additional look. This is important: The second look was to be derived from the high-end look of another team. They were told not to copy the look exactly, but be inspired by it.

So now that you know what their challenge was on the show, here's our spin on it:

This weeks challenge is sponsored by: CHRISTY TOMLINSON of SCARLET LIME (it's the kit in the large bag with red rose paper in the front). Your assignment is to be INSPIRED. Go to SCARLET LIME'S web-site & check out their amazing project gallery here. You then must complete a layout using her kit (you may add anything to it you want: ribbons, buttons, flowers, etc.), but wait I am not done yet!

By Tuesday (midnight) you must send to lucindafish@cox.net a picture of your layout (doesn't have to be fully completed). We will then randomly send everyone a photo of someone else's layout. You will use the picture we send you for inspiration to create a coordinating embellishment for your own layout. When submitting your entry, please let us know what your embellishment was & whose layout inspired you.

Your deadline is midnight Fri. February 5th.

I am also excited to announce that CHRISTY TOMLINSON of SCARLET LIME is going to be our guest judge for this challenge, so no family/friends voting. So do your best work; no popularity contest!

Challenge #2 entries

Hi everyone,

Well, we never heard back from Tim Holtz (I think he's in Japan or something and super busy I'm sure), so we'll do the regular voting this time. See the sidebar for voting info. I received a couple more entries as well, so enjoy!

***UPDATE: I removed the slideshow from the blog to save memory, but it can still be viewed here.

Voting will close on Saturday, February 6th at 9PM MST.

Vote for Challenge #1 - voting ends 1/30/10 at 9pm MST

Hi everyone,

Here are the entries for Challenge #1 so far. I was going to finish mine last night but my daughter came down with the stomach flu, unfortunately! I'll add mine soon...after I sterilize the house! :)

Make sure to vote (on the sidebar) for your favorite by Saturday, Jan. 30th at 9pm (sorry, you can only vote once!).

We will be (hopefully) having some guest judges for the upcoming challenges so it's not a complete popularity contest (smile), fyi!

Thanks!
Lucinda :)

CHALLENGE #2: 1 POTATO, 2 POTATO, 3 POTATO.........UUHHH.......GRUNGE BOARD!

This week on the show the 15 remaining designers had to go to a POTATO FARM. Their challenge was to design an outfit for their model out of potato sack material! What to do with potato sack material........hmmmmmm: dye it, add buttons, ribbons, lace, cut it up into different shapes, etc.

So here is your challenge: GRUNGE BOARD! This weeks challenge/prize is sponsored by one of Arizona's own
T!M HOLTZ! In your bag you will find a 12x12 & 5x7 piece of grunge board. What would you do with it: paint it, die cut it (Cricut mach. do work, but you may need a heavier blade), dry emboss it (a Big Kick/Shot mach.), sand it, dye it a different color, etc.. It is up to you how you would like to use it: on a scrapbook (single or double) layout or a 3D item. I do recommend you check out his blog for some inspiration, he is very talented & his blog is full of a ton of ideas.

You have until Thursday, January 28th at midnight to email a pic of your layout/3-D item to lucindafish@cox.net! Good luck! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!!

P.S. LADIES I DO RECOMMEND THAT YOU WATCH THE SHOW (on mylifetime.com) THEY MADE SOME REALLY AMAZING OUTFITS.

CHALLENGE 1: YOU GOT 3 MINUTES.............GO!

This weeks the designers met in Central Park for their first challenge. Mood Fabrics had decorated up a section of the park (park benches, trees, walkways, mannequins ect.) with all different kinds of fabric/textiles for the designers to choose from. Their challnge was for them to grab a much fabric as they could cary in 3 min. & then the had to pick through & eleminate down to 5 pieces what they wanted to use to design their first outfit.

You will be using the kit the has been donated to us by SCRAPBOOK BARN. You will find it in a 12x12 clear envelope & should be at the back of your bag. All kits are different & have a random amount of stuff in them. They all contain: 3 pieces of paper & a small variety of embelishments.

Your Challenge: you have 3 min. to pick what you want to use from the kit (you don't get to use everything) & to use 5 things from your OWN scrapbooking stash.

Witch Party Photos

I know this is sooooo late! But I just had to finally post pics of our super fun witch party at Beth's back in October! We all had a blast!!

This is the cool project we made!
Sherry

Claudia, Lucinda, Beth
Claudia made this spooky dish to share - it's ribs and a bell pepper on top, but doesn't it look like something from a Snow White movie?
