UP-CYCLE!

I don't know about you but since I was a little girl I have always been into Antiques or as my friends like to say "OLD PEOPLES STUFF"! Well I have been noticing more & more lately how the things that I have always loved to decorate with & what my friends laughed at me about is now starting to become popular/trendy & now a bit pricey! I have always been into the LOVE of the hunt for that UNIQUE item & AMAZING deal! I LOVE mixing old with new & adding in different textures & I LOVE the story behind a piece. Last summer I fell in LOVE with a BEAUTIFUL old buffet from the early 1900's at Merchant Square in Chandler, AZ. It was totally out of my price range, but a girl can dream can't she? Well last December I got a call from my mom telling me I had to be home & couldn't leave! A few hours later I got a knock at my door & received a WONDERFUL early CHRSTmas present..........& here she is! They just don't make stuff like this anymore! Watch for more Up-Cycle ideas & how I decorated with my new piece!

                                                              Front view! Sorry little blurry!
                                                                One of the side doors!
Look at the BEAUTIFUL AQUA BLUE color inside! Great place to hide away the X-Box!
LOVING the fabric! Great place to store/hide all my remotes!
The second drawer is perfect for DVD'S!
Look at the details!

4th of July T-Shirts!

I made these 4th of July T-shirts with my boys & I must say they are the cutest thing hands down! I used Plaid Paint for both the hands & stripes! I also used Freezer Paper to do my stripes. Make sure that when using Freezer Paper that the shiny side is down on fabric & dull side is up or you will have a sticky mess & on cotton setting! It is up to you how many stripes you choose to do. I chose to do more stripes with my older son's shirt since his hand is larger it made it balance better & few with my younger boys hand! Happy T-shirt making!

Blue Jean Pocket Banner!

I made this super cute Blue Jean Pocket Banner using old pockets form my kids & their friends blue jeans! What an AWESOME way to recycle those old jeans. You will never want to throw them out again! You can add as many or as few pockets as you want. I would love to make more for other seasons/holidays. It would be fun to add letter's to the front to spell out names or saying, add buttons, paint, small found objects, fabric, beads, ect. I would like to do some in some girly colored jeans!
Super fun & super easy to make! The longest part is undoing the seams to remove the pocket's, but once that is done it took me less than 20 min. to put together! I suggest using kids pockets adults are too big & don't look as cute!

Father's Day Gift Idea Using Sharpie Markers For Under $5.00!

Are you looking for something fun & unique to make for DAD? Well let me help! I picked up a plane white plate from the dollar store for a $1.00 & a pack of Sharpie markers from Walmart for $3.97. I cleaned the plate first & then traced out my older sons hand & let him color it in how he wanted. Next I did my younger sons hand & helped him color it in so that he wouldn't smear into his brothers hand. If you do make a mistake you can use a little hairspray on a napkin or Q-Tip (depending on size of mistake) & wipe off. Also we did yellow & red together & yellow didn't come out very btight, but my youngest still LOVED it!I then wrote the words/numbers on myself. I put my oven on bake to 350 (I put plate in while oven was pre-heating) & put the plate on a cookie sheet & cooked for 30 min.. Once it was done cooking I turned off the oven & let cool down for 1 hr. FYI: DO NOT PUT IN THE DISHWASHER, WASH BY HAND ONLY!
I have so many other ideas/projects now that I want to do! This would be fun to do for a kids b-day party, camp, grandparent gifts, teacher apprecation gift, Christmas, ect.! You could do this on mugs & small tiles for coatsers!

Now we just gotta add dads favorite cookies!

Marvel Comic Scrapbook

10 Spiderman & 10 Superman pages. I made this for my sons teacher as a baby shower gift. I chose to do a comic book theme, because both of her boys are named after these charecters! It was hard to find anything really for scrapbooking besid...e stickers. I had 1 Super Hero stamp set from CTMH & some stickers form the local craft stores. I decided to do red, yellow, blue, wht., grey & blck to bring out the true comic colors. I also picked up some old comics from an antique store & used book store & used them to do my words. I used Halloween stamp sets for the webs from CTMH, embossit folders for the webs from Stamp In Up, Tim Holtz Mask "Haunted". I even found a Superman luggage tag in the dollar section at Target!
